This is a really simple recipe & these may actually be my new favorite dessert. Who doesn’t love soft melty chocolatey cookies covered in powdered sugar? They really are as good as they sound!
We plan to double or triple this recipe for Christmas when we have our guests & holiday parties to attend because as it turns out, they are the perfect contribution to any party, and everyone is sure to love them.
Tip: If you want to make them look even more fancy, find a pretty antique container to present the cookies.
Oven 350 | Yields 4 Dozen
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 3/4 cups vegetable oil
- 3/4 cups cocoa
- 4 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2-1/3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup powdered sugar for rolling
Pre-heat your oven to 350. In an electric mixing bowl, combine granulated sugar and cocoa. Add the vegetable oil then add the eggs one at a time, then the vanilla. In a separate bowl combine the flour, baking powder and salt. Slowly add the flour mixture to the cocoa mixture. The consistency will be between a cake batter and cookie dough.
Cover the batter and refrigerate for 15 minutes because the dough will roll into a ball more easily when it is cold. Line your cookie sheets with wax paper. Roll 12, 1 inch balls for 1 sheet, placing then about 2 inches apart. Coat each ball in your powdered sugar, don’t be shy, pile it on there.
Bake for 11 minutes, let cool, and indulge! Probably most delicious eaten day of.
